Fatou Gaye – ganz kurz vorgestellt

Fatou Gaye was born in 1969 in The Gambia and is a General Nurse and a midwive.

In 2012, she founded, together with family and friends, the Sheikh Tihami Ibrahim Nyass Foundation, to shelter her women-focussed clinic and a girls’ shelter (a darra, which is the term to use for children’s shelter within a mosque community). The darra was extended to intake boys ever since the Covid pandemic in 2020.

Until now, Fatou Gaye serves as the Foundation’s Secretary and as Mother of the Darra’s girls beside continuing working as Head of Midwifery of her clinic.
